A UAE-based service marketplace — diagnosed and resolved critical production issues, redesigned the database architecture for efficiency, and delivered performance improvements that stabilized the platform during a critical growth stage.
The problem
Tatweer's service marketplace was experiencing critical bugs and performance degradation under real user load at a period when the business was actively growing. Unreliable booking flows were directly impacting revenue.
How I built it
Profiled the slow database queries to find the hotspots causing the degradation, then redesigned the affected parts of the schema and added targeted indexes on the highest-traffic paths before touching any application logic — a safer order of operations than refactoring code first. Traced the failing booking flow to a race condition in concurrent session handling and fixed it.
